I’m not too sure why we have ventured into clothing, other than in my past life, I used to make and sell very tailored ‘english’ gentlemen’s clothing. We had a shop in London and a mill in the Scottish Borders and did reasonably well… until greed set in. But that’s another whole tale that dosen’t need telling!

Because of the internet, it is now possible to promote our name and what we do, in a huge variety of ways and so the clothing idea came to light from Big John. For those of you who have not read any of the pages, Big John is the man who ‘does’ my computer. He has a very successful global blog called www.velocast.co.uk and it’s all about bikes-anything with 2 wheels, a chain and possibly a handlebar. He intoduced me to www.cafe-press and hence to what you see now.

The range of ‘goodies’ is not bad and the quality of the clothing is good, but the real beauty lies in that fact that I don’t hold any stock at all! Neither do I have to source, or buy, the stock.

I  receive a percentage of the selling price and hopefully, I do get to see some people wearing, or using,  the Cuddybridge logo.

Its kind of like the whole squashed apple ‘bit’.

I squash the apples,people buy the juice and that allows me to buy more apples etc and to go into other apple -related items such as varietal apple jellies and our own shop. The pomace that is left is freely given to feed organic pigs.

So I gain, the farmer and his pigs gain, but most of all- the customers gain with  top quality apple juice, and good clothing !

If only life could remain so simple and fun!
